Another Arizona sunset…this is why we live here!!!  We have extreme heat for 3-4 months…and the rest of the months are pure heaven!  As everyone is getting snow, we are getting the most incredible sunsets!

I soooo miss vacation…the serene, calm atmosphere…life is good. no worries and no schedule!

Pier 39…seeing Pier 39, the seals having fun, squawking, playing, jumping and yet fighting…was the coolest to my soon to be 7 yr old.  As she puts it ‘momma they are the feistiest, smelliest, loudest animals ever!’

Our fall vacation was quite the adventurous one… we pretty much did it all! One of our fast track pit-stops was Armstrong Redwoods State National Reserve, just north of San Francisco and west of Santa Rosa, CA. The Redwoods are absolutely breath-taking!!! Just a brief history of how the Redwoods came to be…

The serene, majestic beauty of this Grove is a living reminder of the magnificent primeval redwood forest that covered much of this area before logging operations began during the 19th century. Armstrong Redwoods preserves stately and magnificent Sequoia sempervirens, commonly known as the coast redwood. These trees stand together as a testament to the wonders of the natural world. The grove offers solace from the hustle and bustle of daily life, offering the onlooker great inspiration and a place for quiet reflection.

The ancient coast redwood is the tallest living thing on our planet! These remarkable trees live to be 500-1,000 years old, grow to a diameter of 12-16 feet, and stand from 200-250 feet tall. Some trees survive to over 2,000 years and tower above 350 feet. Coast redwoods are classified as temperate rainforests and they need wet and mild climates to survive. The rainfall in Armstrong Redwoods averages 55 inches per year and the trees are often shrouded in a mystical fog that helps to maintain the moist conditions needed for the redwoods to survive.

Bearizona – located in Williams, Arizona is a drive through Wild-Life Park …reminded me of the movie Jurassic Park 1,2 &3!

Bearizona was a true family adventure and a check mark off our summer to do adventure!

Bearizona Wildlife Park is proud to be the new home for the High Country Raptors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting raptor conservation through education… in this photo, it was lunch time!

I have to apologize, this photo was taken through the window on my dad’s suburban.

After our family reunion in Nebraska, we spent sometime traveling through the Black Hills in South Dakota…on Hwy 244, just past Mount Rushmore, these tunnels were absolutely amazing!

Our summer was pretty eventful…  One of the most memorable to date! 

Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota has the biggest attraction…North American Bison!
